Completely new E-Class family now available from Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles
Doha: The brand new Mercedes-Benz E-Class shines with a fascinating design and state-of-the-art equipment. The car is now available in the Salwa Road showroom of Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Automobiles, the authorized general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Qatar.
With over 14 million models delivered since 1946, the E-Class is the best-selling series in the history of Mercedes-Benz. It is perceived by many as the “heart of the brand”. The 10th generation of the E-Class set trends in 2016 with its clear but emotionally appealing design, the exclusive, high-quality interior and the abundance of innovations in driver assistance systems. This emotionally appealing and at the same time intelligent combination is extremely successful. To date, more than 1.2 million customers worldwide have bought the current generation of the E-Class.
The increased dynamism and upgrading of the E-Class sedan are reflected in the model range: The entry-level model already comes with the sporty Avantgarde Line exterior. This means that the base model of the E-Class sedan has a central star at the front for the first time. The new front section with an increased chrome content also contributes to the fresh look.
The E-Class sedan has full LED headlights as standard. Multibeam LED headlights including ultra range high beam are optionally available. The three new paint colors available as part of the refresh are high-tech silver metallic, graphite gray metallic and Mojave silver metallic. The wheel range has also been expanded and now also includes aero wheels, which also contribute to fuel savings and thus sustainability.
New upholstery colors and materials enhance the interior. These include the new color combinations magma gray / neva gray (avant-garde), black / nut brown (exclusive) and magma gray / macchiato beige (exclusive) as well as decorative elements in open-pore ash, silver, burr walnut fondant, brushed aluminum and aluminum with carbon grain.
Next-generation driver assistance systems include better support in traffic jams and when parking. The new E-Class sedan is equipped with the latest Mercedes-Benz driver assistance systems that provide the driver with cooperative support. This results in a particularly high level of active safety: the E-Class sedan also reacts when the driver doesn’t. The E-Class sedan is equipped with Active Brake Assist as standard, which in many situations can prevent a collision or reduce its severity through autonomous braking. Even with stationary vehicles and crossing pedestrians, the system can brake at normal city speeds and, depending on the situation, even prevent collisions.
The driver assistance package can optionally be expanded to include some Intelligent Drive functions. This includes the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC with route-based speed adjustment, with which the E-Class sedan can now even react to data from LiveTraffic information. The Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC and 360 ° camera enables automatic parking in and out. The system facilitates the search for and selection of a parking space as well as driving in and out (provided the vehicle has been parked automatically) parallel and perpendicular parking spaces or garages. For the first time, the new E-Class sedan is able to recognize and use marked areas as parking spaces. The 360 ° camera transmits an even more realistic image to the media display, which includes an extended side view. When leaving a parking space, the system can warn of cross-traffic and, if in doubt, brake.
The new E-Class sedan is equipped with the latest generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system. As a standard for the region, it includes two large 12.3 “/ 31.2 cm screens arranged side by side for a widescreen look. Depending on the mood or to match the respective interior, the user can choose between four different styles: Modern Classic is a further development of the classic display style in an elegant and light mix of materials; Sport in a high-tech turbine look with emphatically sporty black and yellow contrasts; Progressive stages the digital world in a reduced form; and in discreet style, all displays are reduced to the absolutely necessary information.
Other strengths include the standard touchscreen control of the media display and the use of augmented reality technology (optional) for the navigation display when the navigation function is active.
