Ferrari GTC4Lusso destroys Bentley Continental in the GT Drag Race
In case you didn’t know: Grand Tourer (GT) should bring you and your passengers to your destination in comfort. There are several samples of these cars, two of which are the Ferrari GTC4Lusso and the Bentley Continental GT. The latter has an open convertible version if you are into it.
With the names, it goes without saying that GTs are also fast. In fact, these two are comparable to each other in a drag strip, and that’s the matchup you’ll see in the video you’ll see above, courtesy of UK carwow.
We’re not here to build the tension as you read in the heading. The Ferrari here absolutely wrecked the Bentley at standstill and in rolling drag races, and here are the numbers to prove why.
The GTC4Lusso, while a “practical” Ferrari, is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 681 horsepower (507 kilowatts) and 516 pound-feet (700 newton meters) of torque. It certainly outperformed the Bentley that uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 only delivers 542 hp (404 kW) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque.
The force-induced British GT undoubtedly has more traction, but just lest you forget, the Ferrari took less force to pull its lighter body compared to the Bentley.
With a weight advantage of 915 pounds (415 kilograms), the Ferrari didn’t give the Bentley a chance, unsurprisingly. However, we couldn’t help but think about how this race would have gone if the W12-powered Continental faced the GTC4Lusso.
If this race convinced you to get the Ferrari, you will be disappointed as the Italian brand canceled the GTC4Lusso last year. You may have to wait for the Purosangue if you have a handy prancing horse in mind.
