Nagpur: Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said Thursday the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the IIM here and the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT), Pune, would usher in a fresh start in the field of management and automotive engineering.
He spoke during the signing of a pact between the two institutions that was taking place in his home. It was signed between IIM director Bhimraya Metri and CIRT director Rajendra Patil. TOI published an exclusive interview on Thursday with the Chairman of the IIM Governor, CP Gurnani, in which he explained the pact between two institutions.
According to the press release published by IIM-N, the collaboration and cooperation between IIM-N and CIRT will open new doors for the development of the automotive hub, especially in the transport sector. “The MOU offers opportunities to build up competencies and generate industry-oriented knowledge in transport management. It also provides for research collaboration, leadership training and other educational programs for corporate and government employees, as well as advisory engagements between the two institutions, ”it said.
Metri added that the collaboration between two institutions will open new doors for the automotive center’s development, especially in the transport sector.
Patil supported him, adding that this was a golden opportunity for both of them to realize their efforts. “Cooperation will play a key role for road transport stakeholders,” he said.
Gurnani congratulated the signatories and said he was excited about this partnership. “With these technological changes, our managers of tomorrow will have to deal with very different ethical, sustainable and behavioral challenges. These two institutions will play an important role in creating and shaping the skills and talents of the new generation, ”he said.
