The new clusters were with joint automobile and metal companies in Chonburi Province, with wire and electrical appliance manufacturers in Samut Sakhon, Ratanatham and in the Indochine markets in Sa Kaeo, and with a sack company in Pathum Thani.

There were seven new clusters of COVID-19 infections, with a total of 204 patients in four provinces, while Bangkok recorded the most new daily deaths, according to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration.

The CCSA said the new clusters are with joint auto and metal companies in Chonburi province, with wire and electrical appliance manufacturers in Samut Sakhon, Ratanatham and Indochine in Sa Kaeo, and with a bagging company in Pathum Thani.

The country had 188 new COVID-19 deaths on Aug. 3 and Bangkok had the highest number of deaths with 92. They had chronic illnesses that made their conditions worse.

Up to 101 victims among the deaths either lived in or visited the outbreak areas, 25 got the virus from family members and 44 from other people, including friends and colleagues. Ten deaths visited crowded areas and two had risky jobs. (TNA)
