Verbal argument leads to bodily harm by car
Attack with car
Although the suspect was technically arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, in this case the suspect, Shawn Stephenson, ran over the victim with his car, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Srgt. JuanValencia.
At approximately 8:06 p.m. on Feb. 19, Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies were fired to the 19000 block of Olive Avenue after a verbal argument about a woman led to Stephenson deliberately attempting to run over the victim, Valencia said.
The victim began walking away from the vehicle when Stephenson hit the victim in the lower body with the passenger side of the car.
The victim suffered an injury to his left knee and was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, Valencia said. Stephenson was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and later sent to the Sonoma County Jail.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident in the 900 block of Glenwood Drive for an alleged theft at 2:49 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, Valencia said.
The victim reported that a $1,200 generator was stolen and was being stored in the back of his pickup truck. Law enforcement has no information on the unknown suspect, Valencia said.
According to Valencia, on Feb. 15, a report of an alleged rape was forwarded by the Child Protection Agency to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. No further information could be provided at this time.
